Hard work is in Ted’s blood. Leaving school at 11 to help support a family of 9, Ted arrived in Perth in 1962 with minimal money or education. Beginning his career as a plasterer, Ted started the Ricciardello Building Company and became a registered builder in 1965 before starting Weststyle in 1985 with his eldest son Tony.

Working side-by-side as father and son, Tony learned what it took to be a well-respected builder and successful businessperson. He led by example, being true to his word, respectful and when necessary, tough. With an astute and sharp business sensibility, Ted created built his opportunities and wealth from the ground up, proving that anything is possible.

Born in Sicily in 1949, Rose moved to Perth at just two years old. Meeting and marrying Ted at a young age, Rose exceeded expectations at every turn. Rose has managed the finances for the business since it first began and still does to this day.

Central to the financial viability and down-to-earth culture of the business, Rose brings her warm heart, empathetic nature and delicious food to the Weststyle family. Loving mother and grandmother, treasured wife, former travel and real estate agent, Rose is the beating heart of Weststyle and we are forever grateful to her.

Tony grew up on building sites, developing an innate knowledge of how they moved and worked. Joining the industry as an 18 year old and going into business with his family to start Weststyle at just 19, Tony learned as much as he could from his father and mentor, Ted.

The energy and excitement Tony felt on-site as a child has never changed. He bounces out of bed every morning with enthusiasm, embracing new architectural styles (there has been many over 35 years!) and learning from his vibrant and motivated team in the office. He has built a team around him that feel like family and it is that warm and inclusive culture that sets the company apart.

Weststyle has continued to go from strength to strength, building lasting relationships with clients, earning the respect of their peers and receiving countless accolades from the industry. In 2023 Tony was appointed President of the Housing Industry Australia, WA.

Janis is a pivotal member of the Weststyle team and has been supporting the family and staff in numerous ways over the last 20+ years. With a background in secondary education and involvement with youth programs and various local committees, Janis is a gentle humanitarian who is always looking out for others.

She works alongside management in various roles that have covered areas in business development, interior consulting, client liaison, events organising, reception and more. The cohesive, positive culture of Weststyle can be attributed to a focus on family values from management, Janis is instrumental in maintaining this ethos.

With a Bachelor in Business, majoring in Accounting, Rosanna is a vital part of the Weststyle team. Her background experience consists of work as a Tax accountant with various Perth accounting firms. Rosanna joined the family business in 1998 to work alongside her parents and two brothers.

With an eye for detail and a breadth of accounting knowledge, Rosanna works professionally and seamlessly with the management team of Weststyle. Meticulous and organised combined with her gentle nature Rosanna helps guide our clients through the financial stages of their new home journey and enjoys being a part of the end product with a happy and satisfied client.

As Weststyle’s Lead Architect, Mary draws on her love of storytelling to create homes that capture the past, present and future lives of our clients. Mary and her team are passionate about residential design as a vehicle to realise both form and function – imprinting the client’s individual style whilst using her skill and experience to achieve rich architectural outcomes.

Context and collaboration are essential to Mary’s process, drawing on the surrounding environment and the needs of the client to create a highly individualised design. Weststyle are renowned for unique and innovative homes and Mary’s stewardship will ensure we continue to make our mark on the WA landscape well into the future.

Peter is an experienced Project Coordinator and Building Designer who delights in providing personalised service to all Weststyle clients. Client satisfaction drives Peter’s approach, ensuring that the design and build journey is littered with happy moments and memories. Details matter and Peter is the master of execution, often incorporating indirect lighting elements to curate a desired mood within a home.

With over 13 years experience in the building industry spanning architectural, structural and administrative fields, he has the skills to bring the most complex concepts to life. Peter has thrived within Weststyle’s family atmosphere, feeling supported to extend his skills and experience to excel within his role.

Tayla is an accomplished Interior Designer with a keen interest in crafting unique spaces to suit the individual. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture with Honours from Curtin University, Tayla ran her own successful interiors business for many years before joining the team at Weststyle.

A true creative, Tayla has a keen eye for colour, texture and form, assisting clients to select design elements that reflect their individual style and enhance their home. She delights in pushing boundaries, guiding people with care and experience to deliver a finished product that always exceeds expectations. Tayla’s talent, skill, passion and ability to build strong relationships with her clients make her an exceptional interior designer and wonderful person to have around.

Dan is Weststyle’s Senior Estimator, working alongside most of the departments including design, management and construction with excellent communication skills and a high attention to detail. Dan has a Diploma of Building and Construction and has been in the WA building industry for over 15 years, not only in estimation but also as a project manager and site supervisor.

As well as preparing detailed construction cost estimates Dan delves into researching and implementing new technologies and has a particular appreciation for smart home technology, eco-friendly and sustainability technology and equipment. Dan is always investigating and furthering his knowledge and successfully delivering detailed and accurate information to our team and clients.

With a career spanning two decades, Joseph is a highly qualified and experienced construction professional. Joseph amassed over a decade of experience with industry leading builders before establishing his own successful company some years later, Joseph was awarded a 40 Under 40 award in 2017, in recognition of his outstanding business achievements.

As a qualified cabinetmaker and a self-confessed perfectionist, Joseph has keen eye for detail. In his role as Supervisor at Weststyle, it is the magic of taking an empty plot of land and turning it into a bespoke, elegant and considered home that motivates him every day. Joseph brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Weststyle team, making him a valued team member and a favourite among clients.

Kevin joins the Weststyle team with over 32 years of experience in the building and maintenance industries. Kevin has carved out a successful career through hard work, dedication and commitment. In 1990 he started his own business which operated for 25 years before joining Weststyle as a Supervisor. In his role at Weststyle Kevin oversees construction projects, ensuring that high standards of quality and safety are maintained. He is a skilled communicator and thrives when working directly with clients, suppliers and tradespeople to take a dream and make it reality.

Kiya is a highly skilled professional, holding both a Masters of Architecture and a Bachelor of Integrated Design from the University of Western Australia. Joining Weststyle midway through 2022, Kiya brings with her a wealth of architecture experience specialising in sustainable design. Incorporating a deep understanding of sustainable materials and construction principles, Kiya brings a fresh perspective to every Weststyle project. Kiya is passionate about the intersection between great design and well-executed construction, working on projects from conception to delivery and seeking out opportunities to exceed expectations at every turn.

Jenna is our part-time interior designer for specialty projects and has been part of the team since 2010. Her experience covers commercial and residential but her passion lies with bespoke homes. She loves working with clients, establishing strong relationships and guiding them through the journey of creating their dream home. Jenna thrives on pushing design boundaries to create unique environments and we support her creativity and ambition.

With a Bachelor of Arts (Interior Architecture) and many years of industry experience under her belt, Hayley brings a design sensitivity to her current role as Brand & Communication Executive.  Joining Weststyle in 2012, Hayley has an intimate understanding of our mission and offering.

By working closely with the management team and executives, Hayley identifies the appropriate communications platforms to shape the company’s image and share our values with the public. From social and print media, to branding materials and marketing events, Hayley enjoys deploying communications activities strategically to ensure the company and brand continues to be a resilient force in the industry long into the future.

One of the original Weststyle team members Shannyn has filled many roles at Weststyle and is constantly furthering her knowledge and skillset, adapting to the growth of the company. Shannyn is always a shining positive personality in the office and embodies the family culture and values of Weststyle. She is organised and professional, and enjoys successfully completing her tasks each day.

With a Cert IV in Residential Drafting Shannyn not only works in accounts but is also a valued member of the design team working to bring our clients homes to life. Shannyn leads our award entries each year and revels in being an active part of our award-winning team.
